In one of Madrid’s most vibrant areas, El Patio is located in a building with a cultural past, formerly a theater and later a cinema. Today, it houses a home defined by calm, materiality, and its relationship with the interior space.

Reconstructed in 2025, the home balances contemporary design with original character. The entrance, featuring a marble baseboard, introduces the material language that runs throughout the house.

Next, the space opens to a nearly six-meter linear kitchen, conceived as a central architectural element. Natural stone surfaces, walnut furniture, and integrated appliances coexist with an original steel column, preserving the building’s industrial memory.

The living and dining areas are arranged continuously around the kitchen. Ceilings nearly three meters high, along with carefully designed lighting, create a sense of spaciousness while maintaining a contained atmosphere.

A slight curve in the ceiling guides the path to the heart of the home: a private garden patio. This outdoor space serves as the center of the house, bringing light, air, and greenery inside. Custom benches and integrated storage allow for use throughout the day, creating an uncommon refuge in the city center.

The resting area includes two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The secondary bedroom opens directly to the patio, extending the interior outward. The master suite is defined by a more intimate materiality, with a bathroom clad in red travertine. A second bathroom, finished in nero marquina marble, is designed as a more sculptural and essential space.

The home has been designed with constant attention to detail and materials. Custom furniture, developed in collaboration with artists and designers, integrates seamlessly with the architecture. Climate control is divided into three zones, and the smart lighting system allows the atmosphere to be adapted throughout the day.
