These waters have medicinal properties for various types of diseases, characteristics known since Roman times, when the area was part of the Tagilitana Republic.

The water source has been transformed into a pool, known as the Cela pond, which is divided by the boundary between the municipalities of Tíjola and Lúcar. Its dimensions are square, 50 meters per side, with a depth ranging from 50 centimeters to 2 meters. It was last renovated in 1996, being expanded and improved.

Although originally used as a watering place, today the waters of the Cela spring irrigate the fertile lands of the municipalities of Tíjola, Lúcar, and Armuña de Almanzora. It also serves as a public bathing spot for the residents of Tíjola and nearby areas, especially during the summer months.
