La Seyne-sur-Mer occupies the western shore of the Rade de Toulon, one of the most sheltered natural harbors in the Mediterranean. The town has reinvented itself since the closure of its historic shipyards, with residential hillside areas offering south-facing positions above the bay. The upper residential zones, away from the port, carry a distinctly Provençal character: stone walls, maritime pines, and unobstructed views across the water toward the Cap Sicié peninsula.
The town center provides a covered market on Place Germain, a working waterfront with ferry connections, and a reasonable selection of restaurants along the port. The beaches of Les Sablettes and Mar Vivo are within a short drive. Toulon city center, with its opera house, covered market on Cours Lafayette, and full commercial offer, is approximately 15 minutes by car or ferry.
The ferry from La Seyne port to Toulon runs frequently and takes around 15 minutes, making it a practical daily connection. By road, Toulon is 10 to 15 minutes via the D18. Toulon-Hyères Airport is approximately 30 minutes by car and serves domestic and European routes. Toulon-Saint-Raphaël TGV connections operate from Toulon station, placing Marseille at around 40 minutes and Paris at under four hours by high-speed rail.
