Villa

La Garde is a residential commune in the Var department, positioned immediately east of Toulon and forming part of the greater Toulon urban area. The town occupies a transitional zone between the dense coastal activity of the Côte d’Azur and the quieter inland Provençal landscape, with the Massif des Maures to the east and the hills above Toulon to the north. It carries the practical character of a well-established suburban commune with genuine Provençal roots, distinct from the more tourist-facing towns along the coast.

Daily life centres on the commercial axis along the Route Nationale and the town centre around Place de la Mairie. The Carrefour and Grand Var shopping centre are within a short drive. Toulon’s covered market, the Marché du Cours Lafayette, is roughly ten minutes by car and remains one of the best daily markets in the Var.

Toulon-Hyères Airport is approximately 18 kilometres east, reachable in around 20 minutes by car, with direct connections to Paris, Lyon, and several European cities. Toulon train station, served by TGV, connects to Paris Gare de Lyon in around three hours and twenty minutes. Marseille is roughly 60 kilometres west via the A50 motorway, typically a 45-minute drive. The A57 provides direct access north toward the Var interior.
