La Colle Sur Loup – In The Heart Of The Village

La Colle-sur-Loup is a medieval hilltop village in the Alpes-Maritimes, set between the Loup river valley and the coastal hills above Nice. Its historic core, built largely in stone, retains the scale and texture of a working Provençal village rather than a tourist destination. The surrounding landscape is defined by terraced gardens, olive groves, and views toward the Préalpes, giving the village a character that is distinctly inland while remaining within easy reach of the Côte d’Azur.

The village centre has a weekly market, several traditional restaurants, and a handful of artisan producers. Saint-Paul-de-Vence, with its galleries and the Fondation Maeght, is under five minutes by car. Vence, with its covered market, shops, and the Chapelle du Rosaire designed by Matisse, is roughly the same distance.

Nice is approximately 25 kilometres from La Colle-sur-Loup, reachable in around 30 minutes by car via the D2085 or the A8 motorway. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport, one of France’s busiest, is around 20 kilometres away and typically 25 to 30 minutes by car, with direct flights to most major European cities and connections beyond.
