In Jerez, some of the oldest manor houses in the province rise, with several centuries of history. This is the case of this extraordinary manor house located in the heart of the city, which, over the centuries, has adapted to the different needs of each era, without losing its noble essence. Its excellent state of conservation has been recognized by the Jerez City Council with the Heritage Conservation Award in 2016. It is a building from the 15th-16th century distributed over three floors with 730 m² built and 1,200 m² of occupied area. A simple whitewashed facade without large decorative elements contrasts with the richness of the construction elements and the astonishing design of its interior rooms. From the main entrance on the ground floor, a hallway leads to the central courtyard that distributes the rooms on this floor and preserves magnificent columns and a 17th-century arch; further inside is the staircase leading to the upper floors, a courtesy toilet, and a pleasant landscaped patio with a porch and columns from the time of the house’s construction. From this space, access is gained to two spacious bedrooms with private bathrooms and a large traditional cellar, reconstructed after the great Lisbon earthquake of 1755, which affected the city of Jerez. On the main floor, a hallway leads to the main living room of the house, living rooms, and service areas: kitchen, office, and pantry. A wide gallery distributes two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, and a living room that preserves a beautiful wooden coffered ceiling in Mudejar style dating from the 15th century. The dining room also maintains an astonishing wooden coffered ceiling, and its windows overlook the rear garden. The attic is currently designated as a service area and features a spacious bedroom with a bathroom, a sitting area, and a laundry room with access to the rooftop, a large space with multiple possibilities and excellent views over the city. At the back of the building is a pleasant garden with a pond, where the exterior wall that marked the center of the city in the 15th century is also preserved. The house has underfloor heating, an elevator, a garage with two spaces, a storage room, a boiler room, and two water wells. This is an astonishing property that enriches the architectural heritage of Jerez and maintains the identity marks of Jerez society throughout the centuries. Jerez de la Frontera, world-renowned for its prestigious wineries, is located in a region with a wide range of natural landscapes and a magnificent cultural heritage.
