Inca is Mallorca’s third-largest city and the commercial and cultural capital of the island’s interior, sitting at the heart of the Raiguer region on the central plain. Known historically as the island’s leather-working centre, it retains a distinctly local, working character that sets it apart from the coastal resort towns. The old quarter around the church of Santa Maria la Major and the weekly Thursday market give the city a grounded, authentic identity that appeals to buyers seeking genuine Mallorcan life.

The Thursday market, Mercat de Dijous, is one of the largest open-air markets in the Balearics and draws the whole island. The city centre has a solid range of restaurants, including traditional cellers serving local wine and roast lamb. Palma is 28 kilometres south, reachable in under 30 minutes by car or train.

Inca sits directly on the Palma to Sa Pobla railway line, with regular services connecting to Palma’s Intermodal station in approximately 35 minutes. Palma de Mallorca Airport is roughly 30 kilometres away, around 25 to 30 minutes by car, and operates year-round international routes to major European cities. The north coast around Alcudia and Pollenca is a 20-minute drive, and the Serra de Tramuntana mountains are accessible within 30 minutes.
