Avinguda del Ca Marí runs through one of the most quietly sought-after corners of Formentera’s Migjorn coast, where low-density development and protected pine forest define the character of the land. This is the southern, less trafficked face of the island, where plots are generous, neighbours are few, and the landscape retains a rawness that the northern parts of Formentera have largely lost. The scale here is unhurried and the light, filtered through maritime pines, shifts slowly through the day.
The beach at Migjorn is a short walk from Ca Marí, with several chiringuitos operating seasonally along its length, including Es Ministeri and Tanga. The village of Sant Francesc Xavier, Formentera’s administrative centre, is roughly ten minutes by car and provides the island’s main market, pharmacy, and everyday services. Es Pujols, the principal tourist hub, is a similar distance to the north.
Formentera is reached by ferry from Ibiza, with crossings taking between 25 and 40 minutes depending on the operator, running frequently throughout the day in season. Ibiza Airport is approximately 30 minutes from the Ibiza ferry terminal and handles direct flights to most major European cities year-round, with significantly expanded routes from April through October. A car or scooter is essential for daily life on the island.
