If desired, the properties with land registry numbers 84/3 and 84/4 may be included by separate agreement. Property no. 3 consists of a small cabin on a plot of approximately 500 sqm. Property no. 4 consists of a separate shoreline property of about 8.5 acres in a sheltered bay, with a cabin and two outbuildings. Please contact the broker for more information.
The property is located only a few hundred meters from the nearest parking area, with access by foot, snowmobile, or skis. It is also easily reached by sea, with several good landing points.
The nearest town is Skjervøy, about 20 km away, offering grocery stores and essential services, including a harbor with daily calls from both the express boat and the Hurtigruten coastal liner.
Sørkjosen Airport lies approximately 18 km from the property, with daily flights to Tromsø. By car, Tromsø is about 140 km away, including ferry crossings over the Lyngen and Ullsfjords. From Tromsø, there are direct flight connections to Oslo and the rest of Europe.
There are also good bus connections north and south along the E6, accessible via local bus from Skjervøy through Hamneidet.
Until the early 1900s, the property hosted several coastal Sámi smallholdings, as well as a slate quarry with its own shipping harbor.
Within the estate, six smaller house foundations have been registered, dug into ancient beach ridges. Their appearance and elevation above sea level suggest that they are likely settlement and/or activity sites from the Late Stone Age or Early Metal Age. These sites are automatically protected under cultural heritage law. See attached information, or contact the broker for details.
The area boasts a rich fauna, with a wide variety of wildlife and bird species, including moose, sea eagles, grouse, otters, foxes, and lynx. The property is part of the Hamneidet moose hunting district, which grants rights to moose hunting.
During spring and autumn, reindeer migrate across Maurneset on their way to and from the islands of Kågen and Arnøya. At Finnby Indre and Eidet Ytre, one may occasionally encounter strays.
Up until the late 1900s, the area also served as summer pasture for sheep and goats.
