Grasse occupies a hillside position in the Alpes-Maritimes pre-Alps, roughly 15 kilometres inland from Cannes, at an elevation that keeps summers noticeably cooler than the coast. The nearest train station with mainline services is Cannes, approximately 25 minutes by car, connecting to Nice in around 30 minutes and to Paris via TGV in roughly five and a half hours.
