Just a few kilometres from Siena, this castello stands in one of Tuscany’s most beautiful landscapes. The castle was first mentioned in a document as early as 912. During the extensive restoration work, remains of Roman walls and artefacts from the Etruscan period were uncovered, suggesting a much older settlement. Over the centuries, the castle bore witness to the eventful history of the Chianti region between Siena and Florence. Following its reconstruction in the 15th century, it developed into a prestigious country estate.

Between 1996 and 2001, the entire estate was completely restored with great respect for its historic structure and at extraordinary expense. All technical installations and the entire infrastructure were modernised and sensitively integrated into the historic architecture. The result is an exceptional retreat that combines the authentic character of a Tuscan manor house with contemporary comfort.
