Constructed in white stone around the year 1000, it became the property of the Ricasoli Barons from 1100. They exploited its strategic position as a fortress during the conflict between the Guelphs and Ghibellines. Today, the village is one of the best-preserved examples of a fortified medieval village, mostly inhabited by locals who, with great respect and affection, maintain the village in excellent condition.

The property extends from the borders of the village to the surrounding woods and olive groves. It includes the main castle building, which covers an area of 900 m² and includes a tower from which you can admire the surrounding territory, a deconsecrated church of about 250 m² used as an art studio, an 80 m² annex, a 190 m² cellar, a swimming pool with panoramic view measuring 16x8 meters, and a 60 m² garage.
