Residential Fornalutx Spain

Fornalutx is a small mountain village in the Serra de Tramuntana range of Mallorca, consistently ranked among the most beautiful villages in Spain. Built on terraced slopes above the Sóller valley, its stone houses, cobbled lanes, and Arabic-influenced street layout reflect centuries of layered history. The surrounding landscape of citrus groves and olive terraces, framed by dramatic peaks, gives the village a character that is entirely distinct from coastal Mallorca.

Daily life centres on the village square, Plaça d’Espanya, with its small cafés and local bar. The market town of Sóller is a ten-minute drive, offering a weekly market, independent restaurants, and the Tramuntana’s main commercial services. Port de Sóller, with its waterfront restaurants and beach, is roughly fifteen minutes by car.

Sóller connects to Palma via a historic narrow-gauge railway, with the journey taking approximately one hour. By road, Palma is around 35 kilometres from Fornalutx, typically a 40 to 50-minute drive through the mountain pass. Palma de Mallorca Airport handles direct flights to most major European cities, with journey times from the airport to Fornalutx of approximately one hour depending on traffic.
