Flayosc is a medieval hilltop village in the Var department, sitting at the heart of the Haut-Var between Draguignan and the Gorges du Verdon. The village retains its original Provençal character: stone houses arranged around a Romanesque church, shaded squares with fountains, and an agricultural landscape of vineyards, olive groves, and oak forest that has changed little over centuries. It occupies a strategic position roughly equidistant between the Verdon Natural Park to the north and the Gulf of Saint-Tropez to the south.
The village centre has a weekly market, a handful of traditional restaurants, and a boulangerie within walking distance of most addresses. Draguignan, the nearest substantial town, is approximately 10 kilometres away and provides supermarkets, medical facilities, and secondary schools. Lorgues, known for its truffle market and the restaurant Bruno, is under 15 minutes by car.
Draguignan train station connects to Les Arcs-Draguignan on the main Marseille to Nice TGV line, placing Nice in under two hours and Marseille in roughly 90 minutes by rail. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is approximately 90 kilometres away, around one hour by car via the A8 motorway. Toulon-Hyères Airport offers a closer alternative at roughly 70 kilometres, with connections to Paris and several European cities.
