This enchanting historical Villa, dating back to the 1600s, is for sale in the renowned Piazzale Michelangiolo area of Florence. Immersed in the peaceful countryside overlooking the city, the Property is just a few minutes’ walk from the famous Piazzale, from which one can enjoy the most beautiful view of Florence, embracing all the most iconic monuments with one’s gaze. With an internal surface area of 1.200 sqm (almost 13.000 square feet) distributed on three floors and a private park of 6.700 sqm (approx. 72.000 square feet), it offers a unique opportunity to live in a historical setting of rare prestige. The privileged position of the Property allows one to enjoy the tranquillity of the Florentine countryside while being within easy reach of the vibrant city centre. The area is renowned for its picturesque landscapes and the historic centre of Florence is easily reached by a pleasant walk or a few minutes’ drive. The Villa is characterized by a U-shaped plan, with perfectly symmetrical wings projecting towards the Italian-style garden, highlighted by the presence of two big terraces on the
ground floor. The large, semi-circular staircase is majestic, with its double ramp leading to the entrance located in the middle of the façade. In the centre of the latter rises a small tower with a painted clock, a distinctive touch to the building for more than 200 years. The historical events of the Villa are described in details in a 1906 guide to the surroundings of Florence. It originally belonged to the Amadori family in the 14th century and passed through various owners, before being acquired by the American Ms. White in the 20th century. The building has been renovated over the years while maintaining its late Renaissance aesthetic
and its most characteristic features, linked to Tuscan authenticity, such as the terracotta floors, the ceilings with imposing exposed beams, the pietra serena fireplaces and the many arches connecting the spacious rooms. The latest renovation has integrated modern materials - such as glass and wood - into this design, creating a perfect harmony between traditional and contemporary elements and between warm, rustic tones and cool, modern hues, which work
together to create a cozy and charming atmosphere. The monumental double-ramp staircase leads to the furnished terraces, which are also accessible from two internal lounges, and to the central door of the villa, whose arched silhouette is bordered by stone blocks, as are the windows that neatly mark out the main façade. In the 19th century, the side terraces were completed by a series of Carrara marble columns, replaced in the early 20th century with a continuous masonry balustrade. On the ground floor there are lounges and parlours, a big kitchen, the bathrooms, a laundry room and, in the west wing, a wonderful room - with a pietra serena fireplace - formerly used as a ballroom. A marble staircase leads to the first floor, where the sleeping area consists of nine bedrooms, some of them with en-suite bathrooms and custom-made wardrobes. Currently the Villa is internally divided into four units, but can easily be combined into a single Estate or a main House with a flat for the staff and a guesthouse. The 6.700 sqm park includes an Italian-style garden at the front, which gives the Property a fairy-tale
touch and is reminiscent of the splendor of a noble past. The side park offers other enchanting outdoor spaces, with the possibility of a swimming pool. The panoramic terrace allows breathtaking views of the surrounding Florentine countryside, representing an idyllic retreat just a few steps away from the city center but immersed in an oasis of peace and quiet. The Property also includes a big garage, providing a wide and secure space for vehicles. This Villa is the ideal choice for those who wish to live immersed in the history and culture of Florence, in a luxury residence. The combination of historical elements, high-quality materials and a privileged location makes this Property a unique opportunity in one of the most fascinating cities in the world.
