Felanitx is one of the most authentically Mallorcan inland towns, sitting at the foot of the Puig de Sant Salvador in the southeast of the island. The town centre retains its traditional character, built around a handsome parish church and a grid of stone streets that have changed little in generations. It draws a predominantly local population rather than a tourist one, which gives it a grounded, unhurried quality that is increasingly rare on an island where coastal areas have been heavily developed.

Portocolom, a well-preserved fishing port with good seafood restaurants, is roughly 15 minutes by car. The beaches and marina of Cala d’Or are approximately 20 minutes away.
Palma de Mallorca is around 50 kilometres from Felanitx, a drive of approximately 45 to 55 minutes via the Ma-15. Palma Airport, one of the busiest in Spain with direct connections to most major European cities and year-round flights to Madrid and Barcelona, is roughly the same distance. There is no rail connection to Felanitx, so a car is essential. The Ma-15 provides the primary road link westward toward Palma.
