Fayence is one of the most consistently sought-after villages in the Var hinterland, sitting at around 350 metres elevation in the Pays de Fayence, a cluster of hilltop villages that has long attracted a discerning international community. The old village retains its medieval street plan, its Romanesque church, and its orientation toward the south, with views that extend across terraced countryside toward the Esterel massif.
