17th‑Century Estate With Panoramic Views

Seillans is a medieval hilltop village in the Var department of Provence, consistently ranked among the most beautiful villages in France and a member of the Les Plus Beaux Villages de France association. Its stone lanes, Romanesque church, and layered terraces of ochre and honey-coloured facades have drawn artists and intellectuals for generations, most notably the Surrealist painter Max Ernst, who spent his final years here. The village sits at around 400 metres elevation in the pre-Alpine foothills, with views across the Provençal interior.

Daily life centres on the village square, Place du Thouron, where the weekly market runs on Wednesdays. The village has a handful of restaurants including the well-regarded Auberge du Vieux Four. Fayence, a larger market town with supermarkets, pharmacies, and additional dining, is roughly five kilometres away. The Lac de Saint-Cassien, a significant freshwater lake popular for sailing and swimming, is approximately fifteen minutes by car.

Cannes is approximately 45 kilometres to the southeast, reachable in around 50 minutes by car via the D562. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport, the primary international hub for the region, is roughly 70 kilometres away and accessible in approximately one hour by car, with direct connections to most major European cities and intercontinental routes. The TGV station at Les Arcs-Draguignan, serving high-speed rail to Paris in around three hours, is approximately 40 kilometres to the west.
