Residential Escorca Spain

Escorca is the least populated and most dramatically wild municipality in Mallorca, occupying the high interior of the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range. The landscape here is defined by limestone peaks, ancient olive groves, and deep gorges, most famously the Torrent de Pareis. The Serra de Tramuntana carries UNESCO World Heritage status as a cultural landscape, and Escorca sits at its very heart, offering a degree of seclusion and natural grandeur found nowhere else on the island.

Daily life in Escorca is oriented around the land rather than a town centre. The monastery and sanctuary of Lluc, within the municipality, provides a focal point for the area. The market town of Pollença is approximately 20 kilometres away, offering weekly markets, restaurants, and everyday services. Soller, with its shops and dining, is roughly 25 kilometres to the south.

Palma de Mallorca is approximately 40 kilometres from Escorca, reachable in around 50 minutes by car via the Ma-10 mountain road. Palma Airport, one of the busiest in Spain with direct connections to most major European cities and year-round international routes, is roughly one hour by car. There is no rail or bus service directly serving Escorca, making a private vehicle essential for residents.
