Passeig Joan Carles I is the principal promenade of Ibiza Town, running along the harbour front and connecting the marina district to the commercial heart of the city. The boulevard is wide, tree-lined, and flanked by the kind of architecture that signals civic importance: grand residential buildings, hotel facades, and ground-floor terraces that face the water. From here, the fortified walls of Dalt Vila rise directly above, a UNESCO World Heritage site whose silhouette defines the skyline at every hour of the day.

The promenade is within a five-minute walk of the Marina Botafoch ferry terminal, the covered Mercat Vell market, and the restaurant strip along the port. Ses Figueretes beach is a ten-minute walk south. The old town entrance at Portal de ses Taules, with its concentration of restaurants and bars, is directly accessible on foot.

Ibiza Airport is approximately seven kilometres from Passeig Joan Carles I, a drive of around fifteen minutes by taxi or car. The port directly below the promenade operates regular ferry services to Formentera, taking under thirty minutes, and high-speed Balearia and Trasmediterranea services connect to Valencia, Barcelona, and Palma de Mallorca, with crossing times ranging from two and a half to eight hours depending on the route and vessel.
