18th Century Château At The Gates Of Dordogne And Gironde

At the gates of Dordogne and Gironde, on the hills of the Dordogne valley, this charming 18th-century château is listed as a historical monument (ISMH). A beautiful Louis XVI period gate encloses the courtyard of the château, flanked by two pillars topped with a gable and adorned with moldings.

In the center is the main entrance between two pillars. On either side of this entrance are two doors set under a full arch, topped with spiral volutes.

On each side of the courtyard, the outbuildings extend. Facing the entrance, the main building is set back from the two rectangular pavilions. The front door is topped by a window with a triangular pediment flanked by two scrolls. The ground floor of this main building consists of an entrance, a large dining room, a living room, and a very spacious kitchen on the right side, while on the left side there is an independent guest kitchen, corresponding to a small separate accommodation with its own dining room, living room, and two bedrooms. The main part on the first floor has 3 bedrooms with bathrooms, and a fourth bedroom remains to be developed. A garden surrounds this beautiful residence, which is complemented by a swimming pool. On the right side of the farm buildings, there is the caretaker’s house as well as a very large garage. The purpose of this estate is viticultural; of the total area of 18 hectares surrounding this château, 8 hectares are in wine production, with 50% white and 50% red.
