The marble that has adorned so many homes and churches in the Canary Islands since the 18th century has always had to cross the sea—shipped from Andalusian ports and unloaded at a cost that made each slab precious even before it was cut. What the land of Lanzarote lacked, trade came to provide.

One villa carries on this same island tradition: marble has been chosen throughout the home, with the generosity afforded by an island that has always known how to import what it lacked rather than do without it. Built in 1993 on a private road along the coast, it draws from this tradition a taste for materials that never come from here, yet always end up feeling right at home.
