The property is located a few kilometers from Chianciano Terme, in the province of Siena, a rather well-known location. The reason is suggested to us, precisely, by the name itself: its thermal baths are among the most important in Italy. This is thanks to its particularly fertile soil, located between the Val di Chiana and the crete of the Val d’Orcia, and just a stone’s throw from Montepulciano. The properties of the waters of Chianciano Terme are, moreover, not a recent discovery: the Etruscans and Romans had made it the reason for their settlement there. But Chianciano does not end with its waters: there are many opportunities to visit monuments of interest. One example is Villa Simoneschi, a building constructed around the first decades of the 19th century. In addition to the neoclassical-style chapel and bell tower, the visitor’s attention will be attracted by the garden that contains a considerable amount of rare plants. Another place of interest is the Villa La Foce, an old tavern, also characterized by a splendid garden. As for religious architecture, however, we point out the Church of the Immaculate Conception and the Church of the Madonna della Rosa. And, finally, the two museums: the Museo Civico Archeologico delle Acque, located in the former granary of Villa Simoneschi, where a large number of archaeological materials are preserved, and the Museo d’Arte di Chianciano Terme, where one can find both contemporary art works and a section on Asian art.
