Cavalaire-sur-Mer occupies a sheltered bay at the southwestern edge of the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, framed by the Massif des Maures to the north and the Corniche des Maures coastline to the east. The town has a distinctly residential character compared to its more commercialised neighbours, attracting buyers who want direct access to the Gulf without the congestion of Saint-Tropez itself.
