Cassis occupies a singular position on the Provençal coast, set between the white limestone cliffs of the Calanques and one of the most photographed fishing ports in France. The village has retained a genuine character that larger resorts along the Côte d’Azur have long since lost: a compact historic centre of pastel facades, a working port still active with fishing boats, and a scale that remains walkable and human. Cassis sits on the A50 motorway corridor, placing Marseille city centre approximately 30 kilometres to the west, reachable in under 30 minutes by car. Marseille-Saint-Charles station, with TGV connections to Paris in roughly three hours, is the primary rail hub. Marseille Provence Airport at Marignane is around 45 kilometres away, typically 40 to 50 minutes by car, serving direct routes across Europe and beyond.
