A 17th century Flemish manor house, outbuildings and wooded garden, 50 minutes from Lille, at the foot of Mont Cassel . In the middle of the fields of Flanders, the property is set in a hamlet below Mount Cassel. A topiary garden decorates the Flemish dwelling, which has been awarded the Fondation du Patrimoine label. A testament to the former agricultural vocation of the fertile surrounding countryside, the red brick building, brightened up with colourful woodwork, has a classic layout, typical of Flemish farms in the north of France in the 17th and 18th centuries, with a single block built around an enclosed courtyard. Six blue-painted mullioned windows contrast with the black tarred base, providing rhythm to this composition that looks like something out of a painting by Ruisdael.
