Cannes occupies a singular position on the French Riviera, a city whose international reputation rests on more than its famous film festival. The Boulevard de la Croisette, curving along the Bay of Cannes, defines the city’s public face, lined with grand palace hotels and private beaches. Behind it, the older quarters of Le Suquet rise above the port, and the residential streets between the Croisette and Rue d’Antibes form the most sought-after address corridor on the coast.

Daily life in Cannes centres on the Marché Forville for fresh produce, Rue d’Antibes for boutique shopping, and a restaurant scene ranging from La Palme d’Or at the Martinez to neighbourhood bistros in Le Suquet. The Vieux-Port is a short walk for boat access to the Îles de Lérins.

Cannes is served by its own train station on the main Marseille to Ventimiglia line, with direct TGV connections to Paris in approximately five and a half hours. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is 26 kilometres east, reachable in around 30 minutes by car or taxi, and operates direct routes to most major European cities and intercontinental destinations. Monaco is approximately 45 minutes by road.
