Cannes occupies a singular position on the French Riviera, a city whose international reputation is built on more than its famous film festival. The Boulevard de la Croisette, running along the curve of the Bay of Cannes, defines the city’s identity as firmly as any address on the Côte d’Azur. Behind the seafront, the old quarter of Le Suquet rises above the port, and the Lerins Islands sit just offshore, giving the bay a framed, almost theatrical quality that has drawn wealthy residents and visitors for well over a century.
