Calvia village sits at the historic heart of the Calvia municipality in the southwest of Mallorca, set inland from the coast on a hillside that has been continuously inhabited since the medieval period. The village retains its original Mallorcan character: a Gothic parish church, narrow stone streets, and a pace of life that contrasts sharply with the resort towns along the nearby coastline. It is one of the few settlements in the municipality that has remained largely unchanged by mass tourism development.
The village has a local market, a handful of traditional restaurants, and a pharmacy. The coastal resorts of Paguera and Santa Ponsa are roughly ten minutes by car, offering a wider range of dining and shopping. Palma city centre is approximately 25 kilometres to the east, around 30 minutes by road.
Palma de Mallorca Airport is approximately 25 kilometres from Calvia village, reachable in around 25 to 30 minutes by car. The airport operates year-round international routes to major European cities, with significantly expanded connections during the summer season. There is no direct rail link to the village, making a car the practical requirement for daily life. The TIB regional bus network connects Calvia to Palma, though services are infrequent.
