Cala Llombards is a small, sheltered cove village on the southeastern tip of Mallorca, within the municipality of Santanyí. It sits at the end of a pine-lined road and is defined by its protected natural setting, low-density development, and one of the most photographed coves on the island. The area has remained deliberately low-key, with strict building regulations preserving its character and limiting the scale of construction that has transformed other parts of Mallorca.
The village itself has a handful of restaurants directly on the cove, including Es Molí de Sal, known for fresh seafood. The market town of Santanyí, roughly eight kilometres away, offers a weekly market, independent shops, and a broader range of dining. Cala Figuera and Cala Mondragó, both within ten minutes by car, provide additional beaches and coastal walking routes.
Palma de Mallorca is approximately 65 kilometres from Cala Llombards, a drive of around 55 to 65 minutes via the Ma-19 and Ma-5300. Palma Airport, one of the busiest in Spain with direct connections to most major European cities, is roughly the same distance and travel time. There is no rail connection to this part of the island, so a car is essential for daily life in this area.
