Residential Bunyola Spain

Bunyola is a small inland municipality in the Serra de Tramuntana, the mountain range that runs along the northwest coast of Mallorca and holds UNESCO World Heritage status as a cultural landscape. The village sits at roughly 240 metres above sea level, surrounded by terraced olive groves, citrus orchards, and pine-covered slopes. It has the character of an authentically Mallorcan settlement, with stone architecture, a central square anchored by the church of Sant Mateu, and a pace of life that remains largely unchanged by mass tourism.

Day-to-day essentials are covered in the village itself, including a weekly market and local bars on Plaça de la Vila. Sóller, with its broader range of restaurants, the Mercat de Sóller, and the historic tram to Port de Sóller, is approximately 10 kilometres away. Palma, with its full range of dining, cultural institutions, and international schools, is around 20 kilometres to the southeast.

Bunyola sits directly on the Palma to Sóller railway line, one of the most scenic narrow-gauge routes in Spain, with regular services connecting the village to Palma in approximately 30 minutes. By car, Palma is around 20 to 25 minutes via the Ma-11. Palma de Mallorca Airport is roughly 30 kilometres from the village and operates direct flights to most major European cities, with journey times to London, Paris, and Frankfurt all under three hours.
