Nice Bastide With A Privileged Location, Walking Distance To The Village

Bonnieux occupies a commanding position on the northern face of the Petit Luberon, rising steeply above the valley floor at roughly 400 metres. One of the most architecturally coherent of the Luberon’s perched villages, it retains its medieval street pattern, its 12th-century upper church, and a largely unaltered stone fabric that reflects centuries of continuous habitation. The surrounding landscape, protected within the Parc Naturel Régional du Luberon, is defined by cedar forests, dry-stone walls, and working vineyards.

The village has a weekly Friday market, a well-regarded bakery, and the Musée de la Boulangerie on the main street. Lourmarin, with a broader restaurant and shopping offer including the Michelin-recognised Moulin de Lourmarin, is 12 kilometres south. Apt, the main market town for the area, is 11 kilometres east and hosts a large Saturday market.

Bonnieux sits roughly midway between Aix-en-Provence and Avignon, each approximately 50 kilometres away by road and reachable in under an hour. Avignon TGV station connects to Paris Gare de Lyon in around 2 hours 40 minutes. Marseille Provence Airport is approximately 70 kilometres from Bonnieux, with a drive of around one hour, offering direct routes to major European cities and beyond.
