Seagrape, Cattlewash, St. Joseph, Barbados

Seagrape House is on the Oceanside of the highway facing Cattlewash beach with Lots A, B, C & D on the opposite side to the highway, sloping upwards towards a hill crest. The property can best be described as divided into a beach cottage and a separate large parkland of approximately 100 acres located directly across the highway.

Beach Cottage - The Beach Cottage fits the description of a “Day Home” designed to include an entrance lobby with an adjacent bathroom leading into a spacious day room which provides living, dining and partitioned kitchen facilities. This room is surrounded on three sides by a covered open deck with several wide doors leading onto the deck. The land slopes gently away from the stepped entrance raised approximately 2 feet from the pathway leading to this entrance, to approximately 4 feet above the lawn area between the deck and the beach.

The cottage is built entirely of wood construction with high ceilings and a wood shingle roof affording a spacious volume feeling. All the doors and windows are of wooden louvers. It was built in 2007.

The design can be described as well suited for its location and the cottage has been artistically decorated. The surrounding treed landscape and fenced area provides a high level of privacy creating the perfect spot to retreat and enjoy the Trade Winds and the rugged landscape of the East Coast.
