Son Salom – A Historic Masterpiece Near Santanyi

Es Llombards is a small, quiet agricultural hamlet within the municipality of Santanyí, in the southeastern corner of Mallorca. The area is defined by dry-stone walls, ancient olive groves, and a largely undeveloped rural landscape that has remained largely unchanged for generations. Santanyí town, with its distinctive golden sandstone architecture and weekly market, sits just a few minutes away, giving the hamlet a grounded connection to authentic Mallorcan village life without the density of more touristic areas.

Santanyí’s Saturday market on Plaça Major is a practical weekly anchor. The town has a solid range of restaurants, including Es Cau and Sa Cova, and independent food shops. The beaches of Cala Santanyí and Cala Llombards are within a ten-minute drive. Cala Figuera, one of the island’s best-preserved fishing villages, is also close.

Palma is approximately 55 kilometres from es Llombards, a drive of around 50 minutes via the Ma-19 motorway. Palma de Mallorca Airport sits roughly 50 kilometres away, reachable in under an hour by car. The airport operates year-round international routes to major European cities, with significantly expanded connections from April through October. There is no rail or bus service directly serving es Llombards, so a car is essential for daily life.
