Palma’s Ciutat Antiga is the historic core of the Balearic capital, a dense and layered quarter where Gothic palaces, Arab-era courtyards, and Baroque churches occupy the same narrow streets. The Cathedral of Santa Maria, one of the largest Gothic cathedrals in Europe, anchors the southern edge of the quarter above the seafront. The city’s bus network connects the old town to wider Palma, and the Palma to Inca railway line serves the island’s interior from the Intermodal station, roughly a ten-minute drive away.
