Vallauris sits in the hills above the Côte d’Azur between Cannes and Antibes, a town shaped by centuries of ceramics tradition and permanently marked by Pablo Picasso, who worked here in the late 1940s and donated works that remain on permanent display in the Château de Vallauris. The Saint-Maymes quarter occupies the quieter residential fringe of the commune, where the density drops and properties sit within generous grounds, offering a degree of privacy that the coastal towns themselves rarely provide.

Daily life draws on both Vallauris and the surrounding towns. The covered market in Golfe-Juan is a ten-minute drive, and the commercial centre of Antibes, including the Marché Provençal on Cours Masséna, is under fifteen minutes. The motorway also connects quickly to Monaco, around forty-five minutes in normal traffic.
