Antibes occupies a singular position on the Côte d’Azur, sitting between Cannes and Nice with a character that remains distinctly its own. The old town, enclosed by Vauban’s 17th-century ramparts above the sea, has a density of history and architectural texture that the newer resort towns along this coast cannot replicate. The weekly and daily markets, the narrow streets of the Vieil Antibes, and the working port give the city a year-round civic life that purely seasonal destinations lack.

The Marché Provençal on Cours Masséna runs six mornings a week and anchors daily life in the old town. Restaurant Le Vauban and Chez Juliette are reliable local addresses. The Cap d’Antibes peninsula, a short drive south, is home to the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc and some of the most valuable residential land on the French Riviera.

Antibes-Juan-les-Pins train station connects directly to Nice in around 25 minutes and to Cannes in under 15 minutes, with frequent daily services. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is approximately 20 kilometres east, reachable in 20 to 30 minutes by car or via a connecting train through Nice. The A8 motorway provides direct road access to Monaco, Marseille, and the Italian border.
