Antibes occupies a singular position on the Côte d’Azur, sitting between Cannes and Nice with a character that neither city can replicate. The old town, enclosed by Vauban-designed ramparts that drop directly into the Mediterranean, has a density of history and architectural texture that feels genuinely lived-in rather than preserved for tourism. The weekly and daily markets, the narrow streets of the Vieil Antibes, and the working port give the city a credibility that more glamorous neighbours sometimes lack.

The Marché Provençal on Cours Masséna runs six mornings a week and anchors daily life in the old town. Port Vauban, one of the largest yacht harbours in Europe, defines the waterfront. Restaurants worth noting include Le Brulot for Provençal cooking and Chez Olive on the ramparts. The Cap d’Antibes peninsula, a short drive south, offers some of the most private residential addresses on the Riviera.

Antibes-Juan-les-Pins train station connects directly to Nice in around 25 minutes and to Cannes in under 15 minutes, with frequent TGV services linking to Paris in approximately five and a half hours. Nice Côte d’Azur International Airport is roughly 20 kilometres east, accessible in 20 to 30 minutes by car or via a connecting train through Nice, making international travel straightforward for residents.
