Villa D'architecte De 240 M² à Chiberta, Vue Mer Depuis Le Toit Terrasse

Philippe Pastre designed this house in Chiberta, seven years after setting up his studio in Biarritz. His signature style is recognizable even before entering: a cubic volume, smooth white plaster, a flat roof without any overhang, and a parapet that sharply cuts against the sky. There are no ornaments on the façades. Everything is expressed through the openings.

The main feature is on the roof. A small, fully glazed volume, set back on the slab, reaching out over the line of pine trees to the ocean. This is where the direct sea view is, and only from here. From the living room, you see the garden and the pool. For the horizon, you have to go up.

The two sides of the house are treated differently, and it is this contrast that holds it together. On the south side, two full-height aluminum sliding doors and an exotic wood terrace that runs to the pool. On the north side, narrow vertical slits, designed to bring in light without opening onto the neighbor.

Two levels, plus the rooftop. Four bedrooms and four bathrooms, one per bedroom, which is rare in 240 m² and noticeable as soon as there are guests. The bedrooms face the garden, shielding them from daytime activity and creating a true haven of peace.

The plot is 1,114 m²: the villa and its pool leave a small footprint on the ground and allow for a real lawn planted with pines and olive trees around the building. This ratio is no longer achievable in Chiberta today.

Renovated in 2018, with reversible air conditioning. A storage room of over 20 m² on the garden level for equipment. Three cars can park on the property, behind the boundary wall. The pool faces due south: swimming from May to September guaranteed!

The neighborhood completes the picture. 200 meters on foot to the Dunes beach, 500 meters to the Chiberta golf club house, a links course designed in 1927 by Tom Simpson on the sand dunes.
