Algaida is a small, traditional Mallorcan town in the heart of the island’s central plain, the Es Pla region, roughly 25 kilometres east of Palma along the road to Manacor. The town retains a genuinely rural character, with stone architecture, a parish church dating to the 13th century, and a pace of life that reflects the agricultural heritage of the interior. It sits at the edge of the Puig de Randa massif, the island’s most prominent inland landmark.

Algaida’s weekly market runs on Saturdays. The town is known locally for the Gordiola glassworks museum, one of the oldest glass manufacturers in Spain, located on the Palma to Manacor road. The restaurant Es 4 Vents is a long-established local institution. Palma’s full range of dining, retail, and cultural amenities is a 25-minute drive.

Palma de Mallorca Airport is approximately 30 kilometres from Algaida, reachable in around 25 to 30 minutes by car. The airport operates direct routes to most major European cities and several intercontinental destinations, with particularly strong connections to Madrid, Barcelona, London, Frankfurt, and Zurich. The Ma-15 road provides a direct link westward to Palma and eastward toward Manacor and the island’s eastern coast.
