Alcudia occupies the northern tip of Mallorca, where a medieval walled town sits on a narrow isthmus between two bays. The old town, enclosed within fourteenth-century walls that remain largely intact, has a density of history unusual even by Mallorcan standards. The streets inside the walls are quiet, shaded, and lined with stone townhouses, giving the area a character that is markedly more composed and less commercialised than the resort towns to the south.

The weekly Tuesday and Sunday markets in the old town draw locals year-round. Port d’Alcudia, five minutes by car, offers waterfront dining along the Passeig Maritim. Platja d’Alcudia, one of Mallorca’s longest sandy beaches, runs south from the port. The Albufera natural park, a protected wetland reserve, borders the bay to the south.

Palma de Mallorca is approximately 54 kilometres south via the Ma-13 motorway, a journey of around 45 to 50 minutes by car. Palma Airport handles direct flights to most major European cities, with journey times from the airport to Alcudia of roughly one hour. The Port d’Alcudia ferry terminal connects to Ciutadella in Menorca, with crossings taking approximately one hour by fast ferry.
