Alcudia occupies the northern tip of Mallorca, where a narrow isthmus separates the Bay of Pollença from the Bay of Alcudia. The medieval walled town at its core, with intact 14th-century fortifications enclosing a grid of stone lanes and historic churches, gives the municipality a depth of character rare on the island. The surrounding landscape shifts between pine-covered headlands, wetland reserves, and some of the longest sandy beaches in the Balearics.

The old town offers daily markets, independent restaurants along Carrer dels Oms, and the Roman ruins of Pollentia within walking distance. The Port d’Alcudia marina handles both leisure and ferry traffic. The Albufera Natural Park, one of the most significant wetland reserves in the western Mediterranean, borders the municipality to the south.

Palma de Mallorca is approximately 55 kilometres to the southwest, around 50 minutes by car via the Ma-13 motorway. Palma Airport handles direct routes to most major European cities, with flight times of two to three hours to London, Paris, and Frankfurt. A ferry connection from Port d’Alcudia links directly to Ciutadella in Menorca, making inter-island travel straightforward without returning to Palma.
