Alaró is a small inland town in the Raiguer region of Mallorca, sitting at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana and defined by its agricultural character and well-preserved historic centre. The town is dominated by the dramatic Castell d’Alaró, a medieval fortress perched on a rocky outcrop above the valley. The surrounding landscape of almond groves, olive trees, and terraced hillsides gives Alaró a distinctly rural Mallorcan identity that has remained largely unchanged for generations.

The town centre has a weekly market on Saturdays, a handful of traditional restaurants including Es Verger near the castle trail, and local shops covering daily needs. Consell and Binissalem, both within ten minutes by car, offer additional services and the wine estates of the Binissalem DO appellation.

Alaró sits approximately 25 kilometres northeast of Palma, reachable in around 30 minutes by car via the Ma-13 motorway. The nearest train station is in Consell, roughly five kilometres away, with regular services connecting to Palma in under 30 minutes. Palma de Mallorca Airport is approximately 35 kilometres from the town, a journey of around 35 to 40 minutes by car, with direct flights to most major European cities year-round.
