Historic pazo, fully renovated, among forests and mountains. Pazos are one of the great emblems of Galician identity, reflecting centuries of history, tradition, and architecture. This unique complex has its origins in an ancient rectory house that, between the 16th and 19th centuries, transformed into a noble mansion linked to the lineage of Amarante. Its architecture responds to the character of the highlands of A Frieira, where stone, slate, and wood define sober and robust constructions, designed to withstand the climate of the high mountain region of Ourense. Its thick walls of local granite and slate roofs preserve the essence of traditional Galician architecture. In the year 2000, the complex underwent a profound rehabilitation to adapt it for exclusive residential use. Old cellars and stables were integrated into the main house, while the interior balconies, stone access points, and the perimeter stone wall were restored and enhanced, preserving the closed and noble character of the property and ensuring its privacy. The residence has approximately 2,000 m² built, distributed across two patios, a library, several living rooms, a kitchen, three dining rooms, and seven en-suite bedrooms. The complex is completed with other buildings intended for service housing and various auxiliary uses, integrated into the historical architecture of the property, providing it with exceptional functionality. Outside, gardens, meadows, and forests of centenary chestnuts envelop the constructions, creating an environment of extraordinary beauty and privacy. The property extends over a plot of approximately 2.7 hectares, located in a village of the Concello de A Mezquita, in the heart of the high mountains and close to the borders of Galicia, Portugal, and Castilla. Its architecture, chromatically integrated with the gray tones of the rock and the landscape of the Ourense mountains, blends naturally with the surroundings. The village retains its rural character intact, with traditional stone constructions. The low population density, geographical isolation, and the scenic richness of the surrounding mountains make this property an exceptional refuge: a historical Galician legacy transformed into a private residence of extraordinary character and exclusivity.
