A rare opportunity to own a true Alaskan lake retreat on beautiful Crystal Lake! This cherished family cabin, originally built in 1985 by Viking Construction, sits on 1.53 acres with approximately 300 feet of lake frontage and is being offered with most furnishings, household items, boats, water toys, and boat house contents. The cabin features an open kitchen, dining and living area, queen bedroom, bunk room with two bunk beds, loft with queen bed, and storage room--perfectly designed for gathering family and friends.

The property also includes a guest cabin with queen bed and triple bunk, boat house, outhouse, shower house, fixed T-dock, and floating square dock. Summer water is pumped from Crystal Lake and filtered for use. The shower house is also supplied by filtered lake water and includes a hot water heater.

Even better, the adjoining parcels are available together for an additional $250,000, bringing the total offering to approximately 4.84 acres and adding another 200 feet of lake frontage on Lot 9. Lots 10 and 11 provide additional acreage and flexibility. This creates an exceptional opportunity for expanded family use, additional structures, recreation, or simply more room to enjoy your own private piece of Alaska.

Crystal Lake offers year-round recreation including boating, kayaking, canoeing, paddleboarding, swimming, fishing, snowmachining, dog mushing, cross-country skiing, fat-tire biking, ice fishing, is suitable for float/ ski equipped planes, and more. Crystal Lake is part of the Alaska SnowTRAC grooming pool, providing access to the West Gateway Trail System. In years when the Iditarod has a Willow restart, the famous sled dog race crosses Crystal Lake, creating an unforgettable front-row experience.

According to the Mat-Su Borough’s 2014 Crystal Lake Management Plan, the lake encompasses approximately 132 surface acres with a maximum depth of 24 feet and supports rainbow trout and northern pike. Wildlife sightings may include loons, ducks, eagles, nesting birds, moose, fox, and occasionally bear.

The cabin’s history is as special as its setting. Logs were shipped from Montana through Whittier, arriving during the winter of 1985 when approximately five feet of snow covered the property. Construction began in March and was completed at the end of May. The original outhouse was actually the first structure built on the property. For decades, this cabin has been a gathering place for family and friends, including memorable Iditarod weekends where generations of family members watched mushers cross the lake.

Cabin offered at $650,000. Adjoining Lots 9, 10 & 11 offered as a separate listing for an additional $250,000. Total offering for 4 lots together: $900,000. A truly unique opportunity to own a piece of Crystal Lake - and a piece of Alaska history.
