In Tui, very close to the Miño River, lies a villa with a name of its own: A Pousa. An extraordinary 18th-century property that was once the residence of prominent local figures. An estate with history, character, and enormous potential, situated in a privileged setting in southern Galicia.
The arrival anticipates the uniqueness of the place. After passing through the large gate bearing the name A Pousa, a private driveway of over 300 meters begins, leading to the main house. Along the path, vines create a natural entrance of great beauty, featuring varieties such as Albariño, Loureira, and Treixadura.
The property has a total area of 16,786 m², of which 15,903 m² consists of land free of buildings. Upon crossing the second gate, the main house appears: a traditional Galician stone construction with an elegant L-shaped floor plan and a characteristic turret with space under the roof. Its elevated position provides open views over the landscape and the surrounding hills.
The main house has 372 m² distributed over three floors. In total, it offers six bedrooms, six full bathrooms, a powder room, two kitchens with pantries, spacious living rooms with different atmospheres, a fireplace, an office, a laundry room, a continuous balcony, and a glass-enclosed gallery that runs along the upper part of the house. In 1985, it underwent a deep renovation that modernized its facilities while preserving its historical essence.
The estate also incorporates an independent 102 m² stone guest house, with two bedrooms, a bathroom, a kitchen, a living room with a fireplace, and an old traditional oven. Among its numerous auxiliary buildings, highlights include a 120 m² underground cellar, a tool room, two garages, a game room, a covered barbecue area, and a traditional Galician stone granary (hórreo).
On another level of the land is the swimming pool, accompanied by a changing room and bathroom, as well as a tennis court with a fronton wall. The gardens offer numerous resting spots and seven stone tables, one of which is covered by a spectacular natural canopy of greenery.
Centennial oaks, magnolias, camellias, chestnut trees, walnut trees, fruit trees, and vineyards make A Pousa an authentic natural refuge. An exceptional property as a private residence, tourism project, charming accommodation, or an operation linked to the rural and wine-growing environment, with additional possibilities for urban development.
