The property is located next to the Monastery of Salzedas, Cistercian Order, whose construction began in 1155, after the donation of land to the Order by Egas Moniz, assistant to D. Afonso Henriques and his wife Teresa Afonso, this being one of the monuments most visited in the Region.

The “Chapter Room”, also owned by this Quinta, is an integral part of the Santa Maria de Salzedas Monastery Museum, accessible through its cloisters.
