Pollensa sits in the northeastern corner of Mallorca, framed by the Serra de Tramuntana mountains and the broad agricultural plain that stretches toward the coast. The old town retains a genuinely Mallorcan character: a medieval parish church anchoring the main square, the famous Calvari staircase of 365 steps rising above the rooftops, and a weekly Sunday market that has operated for centuries. The surrounding countryside is among the most sought-after rural addresses on the island.

The old town square, Plaça Major, has a concentration of well-regarded restaurants including Clivia and La Fonda. The weekly Sunday market draws both residents and visitors. Port de Pollensa, the marina town, is approximately five kilometres away and offers waterfront dining, sailing, and a long sandy beach. Alcudia, with its walled medieval centre and larger commercial offer, is around twelve kilometres south.

Palma de Mallorca is approximately 55 kilometres from Pollensa, reachable in under an hour by car via the Ma-13 motorway. Palma Airport handles direct flights to most major European cities and several intercontinental routes, with journey time from Pollensa of approximately 50 minutes by car. There is no direct rail connection to the north of the island, so a private vehicle is essential for day-to-day life in this part of Mallorca.
