This Palazzo was the birthplace of Pope Pius III (Francesco Todeschini Piccolomini, 1439-1503) and is located a few steps away from the town’s main square. Hidden in a small side street the entrance welcomes you with an enchanting travertine portal carved in bas-relief with floral motifs and the crests of the Piccolomini-Todeschini family. Inside there are three large suites with luxury bathrooms, reception room and a living / relaxing area created in the ancient cellars where a cave has been unearthed that seems to be an ancient secret passage that led to the castle.
