Santa Eulària des Riu occupies the eastern coast of Ibiza and has a distinct character that sets it apart from the island’s more commercially driven areas. It is the only river town on the Balearic Islands, built along the Riu de Santa Eulària, and has historically attracted a quieter, more residential population. The surrounding countryside, including the area around Sant Llorenç de Balàfia, is defined by rolling hills, traditional fincas, and protected rural land that has remained largely unchanged.

The town centre offers the Passeig de s’Alamera promenade, the weekly Las Dalias hippie market in Sant Carles, and a reliable selection of year-round restaurants including El Naranjo and Amante. The beaches of Es Canar and Cala Llenya are within a short drive, as is the town’s marina.

Santa Eulària is approximately 15 kilometres from Ibiza Town, a 20-minute drive via the C-733. Ibiza Airport lies roughly 18 kilometres to the southwest, reachable in under 25 minutes by car. There is no rail connection on the island, so a private vehicle is essential for daily use. Regular ferry services from Ibiza Town connect to Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, and Valencia, with crossing times ranging from 2.5 to 8 hours depending on the route and vessel.
